Introduce yourself!

Holly Caste

Genre: New Adult Romance

Fun Fact: I never intended on writing a book—it just kind of happened and I’m rolling with it!

How did you start writing?

When I was younger I would write all the time. Short stories and poetry came naturally to me and eventually became a way to help me cope when I was a teenager.

What is your writing process like?

I’m a planster. I have a general idea of where I want the story to go and certain points I want to hit, but how I get there is totally random.

What inspired you to write Blurry Messes? What is it about?

Blurry Messes started as a therapeutic activity to help me process events from my past. The more I wrote, the more I realized how many people could relate to the main character, so I decided to self-publish. The story is a fictionalization of my experience with my ex who emotionally abused me versus my relationship with my now-husband where I learned (and struggled with) what a healthy relationship could look and feel like.

Do you have any other books published/are you working on anything new?

Blurry Messes is book one of The Scarred Hearts Duet. I’m currently revising book two which will be out in May!

What is your favorite piece of writing advice?

Someone once told me, if I’m feeling called to create—just start. Let go of judgment & all the pieces will naturally fall into place.

Time to promote you! How can people find you? What should they look out for next?

Come hang out with me on Instagram and check out my website

My debut, Blurry Messes is available on Kindle Unlimited and be on the lookout for book two of The Scarred Hearts Duet in May
