All month for Women’s History Month, we will be featuring women indie authors! Follow along every Tuesday and Thursday this month to learn about new writers and new reads.
Hi! My name is Janzzyy Boo. I like writing random poems and prose. I have independently-published my first-poetry book, Realm of Sentiments. I love reading, eating sweets, also love coffee and photography. I also like doing creative journals and listening to music. I’m pretty much a homebody and not into a loud crowd. Also, I don’t have a specific genre for writing poetry. It’s more on personal expression and random encounters about living my life.
How did you start writing?
I just actually started writing this pandemic, but of course being a writer is also being a reader. One of my hobbies is to read books like novels and poetry. Then, one time, I just tried writing one, and it ended up a hobby as well.
What is your writing process like?
I don’t really have a process into writing. Just whatever comes to mind, any thought, burst out of emotion or anything related, I just write them normally. Sometimes, I am experiencing some difficulty in finding the exact word I wanted to write. But, overall, I don’t really have a routine or process in order to write.
What inspired you to write Realm of Sentiments? What is it about?
The book Realm of Sentiments contains my random thoughts, appreciation, episodes of frustrations, sadness, and depression. This is personal and my vulnerability is being exposed, but people might find themselves in the book so I pushed this through.
Do you have any other books published/are you working on anything new?
I just recently published the book, so, as of now I just normally do what I do.
What is your favorite piece of writing advice?
The world is noisy and people are busy. Let the pen flow and express it all through your ink.
Time to promote you! How can people find you? What should they look out for next?
I don’t really have writing platforms because I just started this in 2020.
You guys can check it out. It doesn’t have that many followers though, bear with me. Thank you!
