FELÍCIA JONES
Felicia Jones is the award-winning author of Jerome’s Magical Home, winner of the Wonderscape Wonders Award. For author Felícia Jones, the seed to become a writer was sown as a child when she fell in love with reading. Her many unfinished stories were the inspiration for what would later become her first published works, the most recent of which is the children’s picture book, Jerome’s Magical Home, about a boy and his friend who learn that not everything that is magical is perfect.
Felícia gets her ideas for stories from many places, like movies, TV shows, and conversations. She also draws on her passion for music and background as a songwriter. She believes a great story is one with unexpected turns and where the characters go through a dramatic change. She hopes her young readers come away from her story with the important lesson of not comparing oneself to others and that this stays with them long after the book is closed.
When she isn’t writing, Felícia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching TV and movies, playing video games, and singing. She is also the author of the contemporary novel, The Infamous Story of Retro Brite, and the early chapter book, Zinnia’s Musical Adventure. She lives in eastern North Carolina where she nurtures many creative passions and pursuits in music and film.

Seventeen-year-old Leon lived his entire life stuck in the small town of Crestview and with no plans for the future. He spent his uneventful days going to school, working a deadend job, and hanging out with his friends.
All of this changes when Retro Brite, a popular band, comes to town and sweeps Leon into their world of exploits. Leon learns that having fame, money, and luxury is not what it is made out to be. From the outside, Retro Brite seems like a tight-knit group of friends, but there is more than meets the eye.
This contemporary novel recounts Leon’s experiences with fame, friendship, and self-discovery.
